New midsize Ram pickup truck in development

Ram is preparing to return to the midsize pickup market with a new model inspired by the history of the Dodge Dakota and adapted to modern requirements. Although the release was planned for 2027 at a plant in Illinois, the deadlines were postponed. Ram CEO Chris Fewell assured that the project will definitely be implemented, noting the special role of the North American market.
The new model may be based on the STLA Large platform and will compete with the Honda Ridgeline and Ford Ranger. Ram takes into account the experience of the compact Rampage pickup (pictured) from South America, which successfully combines a powerful engine and versatility. In Brazil, the first batch of Ram Rampage was sold out in just 28 minutes, which underlines the high demand for midsize pickups.
It is assumed that the new product will offer several trim levels, both with an internal combustion engine and fully electric. The pickup will retain the spirit of the Dakota, combining reliability and advanced technology. "We will surprise customers not only with design, but also with performance," Fewell emphasized. This model will be an important step for the company, reflecting its commitment to innovation and global leadership.
